DM, GO, EM, SP, RUBY, and KSM???

Flying in J I noticed a paper with all the J's seats charts filled with pax's last names (my children they put in first names.) Also I noticed some seats have letters that designated their status. DM, GO, EM (emerald), SP (Sapphire), etc. Only the DMs are emphasized with a circle. Now, there is one that interests me but I can't figure out what it stands for: KSM. What is KSM?

Where is this paper? I tried finding it in the galley in J, but only notice one that's taped up on the cabinet showing which seat ordered snacks etc.

There's usually one hanging out in the J galley somewhere. They are also fixed onto the meal carts during the meal service(s).

Why would they have a sheet saying which seats ordered snacks?

Holy crap, you are a genius! That seat is taken by a Jewish person! (He sits at the right window seat, first J row which is where we sit, first row, and why I know he is a Jewish, wearing the Jewish hat.)

Wow, genius!!!

Think it's used to help them remember where to bring the food to after it's prepared, especially if many orders are taken. Probably a different list from what Cathay boy saw.

How do you guys manage to read so much detail from the list in the galley? FAs won't stop you from doing that?

it can become confusing

Last year at LHR I was boarding an AA flight to JFK as they called for One World elites. I handed the gate agent my boarding pass and she questioned me: Are you Saphire? I responded that my friends call me Ruby.

If you act like a geek studying the chart than you will probably be stop. If you are friendly with them, chat with them, and get them to like you more than a pax but a decent person to be with, then no, they didn't stop me at all.

I saw that same chart during takeoff last Dec on HKG to YVR ... I was sitting up top in 88A on a 747, and that seat is right before the Emergency exit, and right where the flight attendant sits during take off ... the list was on a clipboard, and somehow was positioned behind her, and up above the pod so I could read 1/2 of it ... It was there for about 10 minutes, and entertained me for about 60 seconds ...
