CX548 Meal Question
Hi Everyone,
I just want to extend a warm greetings and thank you to the regulars of this CX forum. It has provided me with much useful information since I joined FT.
Having check the sticky “CX FAQ – The Complete Dining Experience” but unable to find the answer, I wonder whether anyone is able to provide any information regarding the meal service in First Class on flight CX548 HKG – HND. (I was only able to find information for the return flight CX549)
I would like to know specifically for First Class:
1) Is the Japanese kaiseki meal available on this flight?
2) If no Japanese kaiseki meal option available, I wonder whether only breakfast items is available for First (dep HKG at 0835)
If someone who flew this route recently and could provide a menu, that would be even better.
Many thanks in advance and look forward to contribute to this forum as I gain more experience flying CX.

I was on the this flight last Friday and was disappointed...didnt take the menu but remember it to be:
1) No kaiseki
2) Usual breakfast items: Juice / smoothie / fruit / yoghurt / cereals / breads followed by choice of:
- chicken / mushroom stir fry with bowl of rice (like long haul)...I had this
- dim sum assortment
- western eggs / sausage with trimmings
Great service on the flight and they were nice enough to do the meal 45 mins before landing but very disappointed there was no kaiseki like in the past

Many thanks Clazza for the info indeed.
I have flown JAL in the past and enjoyed their kaiseki meal tremendously and I like to experience the CX version given the chance, but it appears that I won’t be able to do so on this trip. (I won’t be flying the return leg CX549)
Some of the old posts pertaining to CX kaiseki meal indicate that the quality has decreased a bit since the days of 2003. However, I find it very surprising and somewhat disappointing that CX has decided to eliminate it altogether for this particular flight.
Service wise, I have no doubt CX is top-notch, but just wish that revenue passengers who are willing to pay extra to experience their First product (in lieu of other operators) have the opportunity to select the kaiseki as an option on this route.
Don’t get me wrong, western eggs and sausages with trimmings are good too, but it would be nice to have the choice to have a meal representing the cultural/ethnicity nature of the route.
Again, much appreciate the info.
Cheers.
