Op-Up when checked-in from AA
Personally being a GO for 3.5 years I have never experienced Op-Up on ex-USA FLTs, only ex-TPE and ex-HKG FLTs. I start to wonder whether or not having AA issue my BP has something to do with this. Are there people who have experienced a BP change from CX due to Op-Up after AA has already issued the BP from the point of origin? Am I just unlucky?
Thank you!
Thank you!

This is an excellent question and I would also love to know the answer as to whether having an AA issued BP affects op-up chances.
I know it doesn't eliminate them, because I have had op-ups ex-LAX or ex-YYZ after checking in at other US ports.
However, I've found that if I do OLCI for my CX flight, then the AAgent cannot issue my CX boarding pass and then I have to get a CX BP after I land at my transit point.
Finally, at least ex-LAX they ask anybody holding an AA BP to exchange it for a CX boarding pass at the gate, and they do another passport check when changing the boarding pass.
If you think it's a problem, you can always go to the CX checkin desk at your exit point in USA and ask them to "make sure they've got your baggage". At that point, they'll take your BP and give you a CX BP instead.

No it does not matter.
It only matters if your ticket has a CX or AA coded flight number but operated by CX.
For most op-ups, CX will refer to the CX flight number first. AA coded flight numbers are handled last (if at all).

Also sat next to AA FF-ers on CX flights that got op-upped but never received an op-up on AA in return.
