Terminals at BKK
I need to book a paid ticket from Phuket to Bangkok to connect with a CX award flight out. Air Asia is cheap and has a 2h10m layover. However, a similar layover at PVG was recently almost disastrous, as there was no transit between CX and AA. I was funneled directly to the customs queue and had to find the AA desk in the terminal with two minutes to spare before missing the 60-minute cut-off.
Does anyone know if Suvarnabhumi is the same, or whether I'll be able to stay airside and check in at a transit desk? I'll have no bags. I've searched for 20 minutes but found nothing. Thanks!

You will have to go through outbound immigration if you haven't done so in Phuket, which I suspect you won't have done.
