CX Lounge @ JFK

should CX make a deal with BA for allowing CX J passengers / Members of MPC (Silver or Above) to use the pre-flight dining facility in BA Terraces Lounge at JFK? As these passengers are going to ride a ultra long-haul flight and they may need to pre-dine first.

Have sympathy for the long flight ahead but dont see why they should do this.
All passengers can eat on board if they like...

This is the same arrangement CX has with BA at all stations where CX uses BA's lounges as far as I know.

Logically if CX did do a deal with BA to allow the CX pax to use the dine-before-you-fly facilities in the BA lounges this would end up in the ticket price.

The BA pre-flight dining options ex-NA are only available for those departing from eastern time zone airports (with the exception of ORD). The main reason is because the duration of these transatlantic BA sectors leaving from these cities are often not long enough to enable passengers to enjoy an extended amount of sleep onboard. Thus to maximise their sleeping hours, people often opt for their dinner meals prior to boarding, hence the concept of the pre-flight dining. I've never done pre-flight dining at JFK before, but I have done so prior to taking my BA F flight ex-YYZ and ex-BOS for that particular reason.

All CX departures ex-NA have scheduled flight durations of more than 13 hours, leaving passengers plenty of time to enjoy both in-flight dining and long hours for sleeping.

What lounges are business / first passengers, and MPC members (SL,GO,DM) permitted to use in JFK as of now?

CX does exactly this -- but for F pax (perhaps limited to revenue F tix). I've always received a voucher for the JFK BA pre-flight dining when traveling on CX during dinner hours.

The BA dining menu is dismal in terms of quality and I've chosen to only eat soup/salad. Otherwise it is things like salmon and roast beef, but not Balik salmon or even smoked salmon Now Elemis spa treatments would be much more worthwhile.

Flying CX F, pre-flight dining is not necessary unless the passenger is really hungry. I would rather stay hungry and eat on the flight.

Should CX expand this to J pax and Members of MPC (Silver or above)?

I believe that the situation is a bit more nuanced. Unless it changed recently .

BA "forces" its J pax to eat preflight at JFK for the overnight flights. That is the reason why only BA J pax can access the buffet dinner area (not BA Y pax with BA saphire/emerald status) . J pax are NOT served dinner onboard, just some little snack. So the situation is vastly different for J CX pax who get served dinner onboard.

There is a F section in the gallery business lounge that is open to OW emerald and CX F pax, but it is a joke as section is unfriendly and wine/liquor just marginally better. BA F pax (not BAEC Emerald or other OW emerald) are allowed to use the BA First lounge, which is in a different part of the terminal. There you can get la carte dining. BA F pax have the OPTION to eat preflight (average food and wine) or onboard (with great wines and good food) or both. I usuall take some nice first dish in the lounge and full dinner onboard!

Note that this information is incorrect - the BA First lounge is only for oneworld First Class/Emerald. The BA Terraces lounge can be used by these passengers and oneworld Business Class/Sapphire.

For clarity, the Concorde Room is only available for BA First passengers.

the pre-dine facility may be just set to only allow the eligible F/J passengers and Members of MPC to use if they travel on CX889 or the new direct flight CX845 to HKG from JFK.
