Diamond Plus

Interestingly, there is a Diamond Plus tier for CX MPC.

Source: Asia Business Traveller

If you are a Diamond member of Cathay Pacific’s Marco Polo Club you might not be aware there is a further – higher – tier to aspire to: Diamond Plus.

According to a CX spokesperson, Diamond Plus and Diamond members are “considered in the same tier in every aspect”. However, Diamond Plus get extra perks consisting of

• Nomination of one companion to the Diamond tier

• Access to CX First Class lounges regardless which airline they are flying

• The services of a dedicated Diamond Plus Service Team

The Diamond Plus tier is not to be confused with CX’s Lifetime members, which was how the airline previously recognised the custom of very frequent fliers.

maybe they ran out of topics to write about? or maybe many of their clients do not know about this.....or is like an advert paid by CX to attract more pax?

Outside of people that reads this forum are we sure this is public knowledge? I remember waitlisting for PVG-HKG flight and the agent came out and call for DMs and when 30+ of them went ahead she then said: "Which of you are DM Plus or Invitational?" and about 5 people raised their hands and get assigned seats, which the rest of the DMs started to demand answers why are they treated differently as they thought DMs is the highest rank in MPC.

I don't think it's public knowledge. CX doesn't advertise the existence of this tier. I only found out from this forum, and I have been Diamond for quite a while.

When you go to the Wing, there is a sign on the entrance desk which shows all the different tiers of MPC, and DM+ is there along with the other tiers.. so I think its pretty public...

Not mentioned on CX website, not mentioned in CX MPC site, when you try to google it the most frequent place DM+ shows up is this forum. But we have a little sign with DM+ on it. That is not public announcement.

Why should there be a public announcement? This benefit applies to less than 0.01% of MPC members. The qualification thresholds are subjective and variable and I seriously doubt CX believe anyone will go on a mega-mileage run to achieve this status. So what would CX gain by promoting this tier? In fact it might possibly alienate those DMs who think they are already at the top tier.

In any event you can find reference to the Diamond Plus tier on the CX website and some CX publications (e.g. the staff newsletter) - you just need to know where to look.
