Status re-set, human or automatic
The date by which I had to meet the criteria for SL was August 31st. I passed this mark last week and still have some 17,000 miles to accrue before the 31st. I notice that on the 4th of August, the option of continuing to Gold was taken away and my mileage re-set to zero and silver. I am not complaining, in fact, CX are doing me a favour. The 17,000 I'm doing in the next two weeks can now be used to re-obtain SL.
My question is, was it a computer/automatic re-set or a 'human' decision? Just curious as to how it works,

I believe it should be automatic by system. Mine was due to expire on 31 Aug 2010 and my club miles have also been reset on 4 Aug and account indicates that I will need 30K club miles or 20 club sectors to renew my SL status.

I think CX is consciously doing that to help FFs advance easily; as for it's human or computer I'm not so sure, but if I had to guess since there's obscene amount of GOs and SLs I really doubt it can fully be human so it's probably a combination of the two (the computers flag a list of potentials and for humans to make decisions on them.)

I take a flight on 26/9 and it make me total 20 club sectors to SL.
I check cx.com today (28/9) it show 20 club sectors but status still is GR; membership details show 01 Oct 2009-30 Sep 2010, it should be automatic by system?
ps. I join MPO 10 years and this is my first time touch SL....

The 'system' is wonked. this past January I hit silver on my outgoing... when I flew back 6 weeks later, the website showed me at silver, but all 3 boarding passes showed 'GR' on it... dunno what's up with that. I was flying in J so I automatically got the lounge passes... I never asked the check in attendant because the issue was moot.

Were you green before? If yes, then it was normal. You cannot skip tier, you need to get 30000 miles to reach silver first, then another 60000 to reach gold.
