Recommendation on Business Class Section

Traveling from LAX to HKG in business class on the newly configured 777 long haul. I have seats in row 11 and 12. Has anyone sat in this section? Did you find it claustophobic and is row 12 too close to the laboratory (odor issue?).

We always take 11K and 12K. No odor problem. Benefits: little foot traffic (to lav or for service) and more private than the dorm room on the other side of the galley.

Thanks for the response. We'll keep our seats.

I do find the lie-flat CX Business Class seats quite claustrophobic. I would much prefer the old seats. The angle of the seat and inability to look out the window also adds to the claustrophobia!!!! I recently flew HKG-BOM in Business Class on a late night flight; i wasn't too impressed by the service either. Thought the flight attendants were in a hurry to just get through the meal service, or they were cranky because no one wants to fly to Bombay!!!

The front compartment (11 & 12) are best seats on the 77A. Very private and good service.

Never sat in 12 so can't comment on the lavatory issue but wouldn't expect odor to be the problem - noise maybe...

As for claustrophobia, I felt that way the first couple times, but after that I MUCH prefer the new seats over the old. Totally private which is really good but can feel narrow at times especially if reading a full sized newspaper...

The J class seat is fine once you get used to it, and I especially love the privacy. However, like you said for big shoulder guys like me it's annoying sometimes when I try to read a book or newspaper or work on the laptop. There's absolutely no extra space to put stuff around you.

But rows 11 and 12 are the best J seats in my opinion. Quite, and quick service (you're right there near the galley). However, if you get chatting FAs then yes it could be noisy (happened to me on last flight, two FAs chat chat chat)
