If you purchase tickets with "CX" flight number on codeshare flights operated by partners , you will earn Club miles. But will this mean CX will codeshare on Westjet or just internline their operations?

This appears to be an "inbound" interline arrangement only according to WS' news release:
".......The inbound interline agreement allows guests to board a Cathay Pacific flight and travel on one itinerary to select destinations in WestJet's network. Initially, connections will be made through the gateways of Vancouver and Toronto, with the option to continue via WestJet to Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Montral and Halifax. ......"

WS only has economy class. Someone flying HKG-YVR-YYC in business class will still have to connect with AC on the YVR-YYC segment.
Someone flying YYC-YVR-HKG will still have to collect the bags at YVR to queue up for check in at the CX counter. However, CX has both inbound and outbound interline arrangements with AC and bags will be able to be through checked.
So still a lot of works to be done between WS and AC.

Any ideas when this is supposed to start? Flights from Edmonton/Calgary still use AC for the domestic part.
Also, why is it impossible to book flights from Taipei to Edmonton, Calgary, Montreal or Ottawa using CX's website? (You can book to secondary cities like Regina though)...
