Dorado, Puerto Rico restaurant suggestions?

Anyone w/suggestions for good, yet reasonably priced restaurants in the Dorado area of Puerto Rico? Staying at the Embassy Suites. Travelling with family (2 young kids).

Pass on the buffet at the ES unless you're dog-tired on arrival like we were. Not too special for around $22 a head. The grill at the pool is just ok.

We didn't find many places we'd go back to but there is an italian place that was wonderful. I don't remember the name but it's in the shopping plaza just outside the gates - the plaza with Baskin Robbins and Taco Bell. I tasted all 4 dishes on the table and each was well prepared. Nice bottle of chianti. The bill for 4 of us (including 2 teenage sons with big appetites) was under $100 with wine and tip.

I especially enjoyed the managers reception. If you have a gold key, you drink free for a couple hours at any bar at the ES each night. Ah, I can taste that cold Medalla as if it was last night.

Take a cab to the Cerromar Country Club... the Zen Garden restaurant there is one of the best Oriental restaurants in Puerto Rico. Highly recommended. Near your hotel you'll find options such as Mangere, a great Italian restaurant, and plenty of fast food fare. PM if you'll like any more recs.

BlassSJU-Mangere sounds like the same nice place that BamaVol explained above. Does his location description sound familiar?

Any other recommendations would be great. Kid-friendly please. We will have a rental car.

loomis,

I think the place I was trying to recall is Trattoria Garganni Italian Cuisine. I did a quick search and that is the name that looked more familiar.
