Question Winter destination - golf and not too hot?

Hey everyone!

Looking for some guidance for a trip next January.

We generally spend the month of January as snowbirds escaping the cold in South Carolina, but for next year we're looking to do something different.

We're looking for a new destination with the following requirements for a one week trip:
- Within a 5 hour flight of Montreal
- warm destination but not TOO hot (under 25 C / 75 F)
- safe to explore, we're ok with a resort but would like to be able to try local restaurants etc
- Golf courses
- beach location

Does anyone have any ideas that would meet this criteria? Happy to look at Central America also (I was wondering about Costa Rica), not sure if I should post there also?

Thanks everyone!

Kirstie

The Lodge at Torrey Pines (San Diego). There is also a Hilton here on the same street. Amazing 'city of san diego' owned golf course on the bluffs overlooking the ocean.
