Make sure you have an account set up with the provider (car rental/hotel/airline) that you are booking travel with before you book with CapOne.

Anyone else notice the limited selection of hotels on C1 travel. If I am looking for a specific hotel, at least 50% of the time it does not show up on C1 travel - and I can check the same hotel on hotels.com and it comes up and shows availability.
It's not just small random hotels that are missing. As an example, if anyone wants to check my work, searching Barcelona for 2/1-2/2 2023 specifying Novotel brings up 3 hotels on hotels.com and zero hotels on C1 Travel.

What is with the very limited flight availability? For any city pair I was looking at, with plenty of flights available on GF (and OTAs and airlines directly), I see virtually none of the same options on C1. Some routings show *no* availability in business at all (which, of course, is pretty much impossible), or if they do - only offer tickets 200% more expensive than everywhere else. Is this the norm?
P.S. Ok, so reading above, seems like this is common. C1 travel is clearly not a fully featured OTA, probably select a limited subset of flights based on the commission they can charge. That's unfortunate (and borderline scammy).

I had a very good experience this month with booking an AA international flight using capitalonetravel. Fares were high but the same on aa.com and other sites. I booked the non-refund free changes fare. I called once to change flight time, and I called a second time to change it back. No charge for either change. No excessive hold times. This is exactly how it's supposed to work.

Can't book a flight with Reward pts & cash/card?
I'd like to book a $680 flt and use abt 48000 reward pts & pay the $200 balance with my Cap1 card but I'm never given that option. At check out all it says is $680 or 68K points. But I only have 48K pts. I know that I could pay the whole $680 with my card and later erase $480.
Easy to do with Chase UR but not possible with Cap1?

This recent article says that you can mix money and points:
I cannot test because my points balance is zero, but what happens if you choose the pay with points option even though you do not have the full amount? It might offer a split payment option.
Search for your flight, hotel or car rental here in the Capital One travel portal and select the options you want to book. Youll have the option to pay for your trip entirely with your Venture miles or you can use a combination of miles and cash.

USD $678.94/67,894 miles
And right below this it says "Confirm and book."
Since this is a non-refundable ticket I don't want to take a chance and then end up with an e-credit of $678 with DL if I choose to cancel later. I rarely fly DL so I may never use the credit. I'll just wait and use my 48K pts on something else. Thanks for the link.

Several people will correct me if I am wrong, but even non-refundable tickets can be cancelled for a refund in the first 24 hours (unless the flight is for travel in the next few days).
If you made a booking within the past 24 hours, you may be eligible to cancel with no penalties by calling 844-422-6922.

Edit: changed my mind and decided to use my 48K pts to offset the FC tix. Had the option to use all or part of my pts.

Mind enlightening me why you paid with points instead of redeeming the points after the flight posts? I thought you're rewarded more by spending cash (5x) as compared to other portals that encourage point spending in the portal like Chase Ultimate Rewards.

Like you mentioned, the Hopper portal let's you select how many points to apply after you enter in the traveler info and it checks the flight availability once more.

I don't have the cap1 card, but a friend does.
He said that there were a predominance of hotels only offering non cancellable reservations where he wanted to go (Tuscon for example).
I know that the hotel choices are limited, but I thought it unlikely to be the case. Are the hotels like Courtyard, Hyatt Place, Hilton Garden Inn in Tuscon available in the portal on cancellable rates?

IME many available hotels offer more than a single rate. The cheapest rate may indeed be non-refundable. But for a trivial extra payment, one can get a fully refundable option.

I am constantly reevaluting my credit card strategy. Currently Chase/Amex work great for me. I have the Cap One Savor One card so thought I'd give the Cap 1 travel portal a spin. To the best that I can see they don't offer the option to do multi city flights? The flight selection in Business Class TATL is non existent. (I was looking at MAD and BCN). Am I missing something or is the travel portal essentially non operational? While I usually book with the airlines, for the purposes of points I like to use the travel portals as opposed to transfer since I never can find award space on my very popular completely inflexible dates. haha!
