50,000 after $3,000 spend:
https://www.capitalone.com/credit-cards/travel-and-miles/

Capital One usually does a hard pull with all three credit bureaus.
If you have a security freeze on your report, they generally will not allow you to submit a code for this report to be viewable.

If you've held this card before, it looks like you can get this bonus again. Data points: 1, 2. YMMV

You can redeem a single travel expense over and over. Let's say you spend $100 on travel. You can then spend $900 on ANYTHING else and redeem that $100 travel expense 10 times to cover the $1000.

Don't limit yourself to only travel expenses unless you have $1000 in travel coming up.

How do capitla one venture mc compare to chase sapphire preferred?

Currently have cap one MC earning 2 miles per $1 spent on ALL purchases. Debating if we should close this off and transfer spending to a CSP.

Well, the two cards differ in a lot ways, including how one can use the points, benefits such as rental car coverage (primary coverage with CSP), etc. Both cards are blue, though. Have you started by looking at the info on each card at the Cap One and Chase web sites? Which card you put spend on simply depends on how you would use Ultimate Rewards points and the value you get from those points. I's start with whether you want to use CSP's transfer partners, or just want cash back.

Applied for Venture. I already have the no-fee version of this card. App wasn't auto-approved. 3rd app today, other two were for Arrival+ and CSP, those went to pending as well. But I was able to get approved for the other two after recon calls.

For Capital One it seems they don't do recon? I called their general line, and was told by a rep that it will take up to 3 weeks for them to make a decision. I guess there's nothing I can do to push this process along? If anybody has any advice I'd appreciate it.

Got approved today. Called the general customer service line again, was routed to a rep in Tampa FL who told me they would inform me of their decision no later than 3 weeks from now. So same thing they told me yesterday. This time I asked if there was any extra information they needed from me that could help speed up the process. She said she wasn't sure but that she could transfer me to their application services line. This time I was transferred to what sounded from the accent like a Philippines call center. I was asked to verify my name, DOB, and SS#, and was approved immediately after.

Tried searching but nothing came up. Does the Global Entry count as travel for purposes of redeeming miles?

Just got back from a trip to France with my chipped Venture card. Worked everywhere I tried it (Restaurants, shops, the toll roads up to Normandy etc) - even a vendor at a random street market who had a credit machine. I never once got denied (well once on a toll road but we figured out it the company that owned this particular toll road was Amex only).

Did not try it at the 24/7 unmanned gas stations or the Paris Metro terminals - my girlfriend was paying for those portions and she has the Arrival+, which is chip and pin.

I know this works with the arrival+, the bonus posts immediately, but am less familiar with this card.
I would like to know this as well. Sounds like it will work great for my trip to Orlando where Arrival+ will not cover.

My bonus applied as soon as I hit the spending threshold. So yes they should be redeemable.

Stupidly added this card at the end of an app run the other day without doing any research first. Got approved for Amex PRG, BoA AS and Citi Hilton then got denied for this card. Reasons for denial:

Thank you for applying for a credit card issued by Capital One. Unfortunately, after reviewing your application and information obtained from your consumer credit report(s) from the agencies detailed on the back of this letter - we cannot approve your request at this time.
The reason(s) for our decision are:

• Based on your credit report from Equifax, too few or no revolving accounts have a balance I use several of my cards all the time and the rest on a rotational basis so not sure what this could mean unless they were looking to see a balance on every card!

• Based on your credit report from Trans Union, there are too many new revolving accounts No way around this one, I've been busy (but not as busy as some FT'rs). 6 new in past year, 12 in past 2 years.

• Based on your application information, income is insufficient for requested credit - This makes no sense. My income is slightly above 6 figures and I have no debts other than a small mortgage. Could this be referring to my income vs. already existing credit lines from other banks?

I've never dealt with Cap One before and I guess I won't again since I don't see any of the above changing any time soon. And, they pulled all 3 credit bureaus!

My FICO is consistently above 800. Before the other day, I had been on a self imposed 6 month app hiatus so I thought I was in good shape for an app run. I guess I would have known that about the 3 pulls if I had done my usual research but after seeing the PRG 50K no AF $100 airline credit offer, and the BoA 25K $100 statement credit offer, I jumped the gun and then quickly added Citi and CapOne to round it out.

It's just their generic computer response to every rejection it seems. Other people posted the exact reasons and I got that myself about 1 week ago applying.

Got going on two venture cards recently. I was impressed by how broad their travel definition is. So far I have been able to see available for redemptions:

Airbnb
AA award booking fees
Taxi charges in home city
Rental car in home city

Looks as good as the Arrival+

I think slightly better because:
  1. You can redeem the same purchase multiple times to use up points
  2. Redeem for purchases under $25 (well full purchases - partial redemptions are limited to a minimum of $25)
