What is "D" class
I was just looking at itn, searching for flights between YYZ and HKG and both CP 7 and CP 8 showed a thing called "D" class...I want to know does any one have any idea what that is?
Also, found out CP made some weird change to their winter schedule...for example, CP 1 is a direct flight to Japan, now it stops in YVR.
I really hope CP and AC doesn't merge...more pax, less upgrades.
Regards,
Empress

That could be their new motto -- a play on the old beer commercials. Tastes bad, more filling.

Cathay Pacific's "D class" is Full fare Business.
Just maybe another attempt to streamline and standardise codes between Oneworld members???

All oneworld members are trying to streamline their computer availability codes.
Full fare (no restriction) class codes are : First - F, Business - J, Coach - Y, B or M.
Discounted First (for RTW fares) - A, Discounted Biz - D (though Cathay also uses I), Discounted coach - what have you.
Currently CP uses C for its discounted Business Class seat availability. It will eventually switch to D.
Note that when booking a RTW fare in First or Biz class for example, availability in F or J does not mean the same availability in A or D class !
