Name changed?
Hi, does anyone here know why Canadian Airlines changed their international business class - 'Club Empress' to 'International Business Class'? Although I agree the new name is quite straighforward and easy to remember but also quiet uncreative and boring. Personally, I like their old name better. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I don't think they actually changed the name. "International business class" is used to distingush the 65' pitch business class from the regular Club Empress. On a flight to HKG recently, they still call it Club Empress.

I agree with Ajay.
Most people refer Business Class as "Business Class". The "International Business Class" is to differentiate it from normal "Business Class" on the B737 and A320 aircrafts.
I flew in the "International Business Class" yesterday. Seat 1A. Food was better than before but not fantastic. CX is still better. But ever wondered why most CP F/A's looked so sour-faced?

Recently, I flew CP7 to HK. Amazingly, I found a young and beautiful Chinese F/A. It was a rare scene on CP flights

Haha Chatter, you gotta be joking. Although I'm not a FF, but all FAs I met in the past were at least over 35. Are you sure what you saw is a CP's FA and not a passenger? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Over 35? You mean over 45!
Actually, recently CP hired F/As specifically for their language skills so Chinese and Japanese were the priority. In this case, 'younger' F/As were trained.

I am sure for what I have seen. She is really young, should be around 25. Besides this F/A, there was also another young Chinese F/A, though i didn't see her, I believed she should look fine. However, her Chinese was sooooo crampy!! Like reading out poetry.
