This YYZ connection possible?

I'm flying CX 826 from HKG-YYZ. That flight is scheduled to land at 7:15 PM at Terminal 3. There is an AC flight YYZ-EWR, last one out that night, at 8:40 PM departing from Terminal 1. Can I possibly make that connection? I will be checking luggage. I know I have to clear Canadian customs after collecting my luggage, then take the LINK train, then go to AC to get on that flight, then clear US customs. Is this possible in 1hr 25 mins? If not, I have a reservation at the Sheraton, and can just stay over and leave the next morning.

Hi

Is it possible - maybe but after arriving on that long haul flight I would not put myself through the stress of trying to make that connection. Who knows what delays you may face. A nice hot shower and a good nights sleep at the Sheraton is what I would do and you may also I time for a swim or use the gym at the hotel if they have one. Wake up fresh for your next flight.

Cheers

Is this the same ticket?
If it is, I would do it, since you dont have to stress if you miss the connection, if the airline sells this as a legal connection, it is then their responsibility if there is a delay.

If its seperate tickets, I wouldnt dare doing it, T3 customs can take a while, and T3 luggage sometimes takes forever to arrive.

u will not be able to make this connection, i know this because the baggage hall to get ur bags take a very long time, the belts r small and keep getting jammed n d shut off. u will be in the baggage hall from newhere between 30minutes up to n hour. when u get out u have to catch the train in the upper level and there might only be one link train runnning at the the time u arrive, plus clearing the US customs and checking in will also take time and then there is the walk to the gate. u wud be better of staying at the sheraton and vatvhing the next flight out in the morning.

Well, low and behold, I MADE IT!

I was flying in F on CX and had them call ahead to get me an escort to get me through immigration/customs. At the same time, they called my bag tags ahead so that they were out right away. The were the first two on the carousel. Ran up to the LINK train, waited 3 mins 25 secs for one. Got to Terminal 1 3 minutes later.

The bottleneck was with AC. I wanted to switch to the 8:40 PM flight, and the desk agents couldn't help me. They told me to pick up a white courtesy phone and call AC directly. I finally got someone on the phone that changed my flight, with fee, of course. She wouldn't get off the phone with me, and then told me that the latest check-in time for lunch was one hour before and it was currently 7:39. So, I rushed her off the phone and ran over to the checkin desk. When I got there, it was 7:41 and they initially denied me checking my bags. After some cajoling and asking for a supervisor, they agreed to accept them but made no guarantees as to whether or not they'd make it.

I got through US customs, boarded the aircraft and was in my own bed last night, safe and sound.
