Ok, so I am having a little bit of trouble finding information about the airport, and was wondering if anyone could help me. So, my first question, what is the salilite terminal about (gates 200-299). Is it just US arrivals/departures? And what flights depart from there? (my flight is from Pittsburgh), and if there is any consessions there? Also, if I am departing on an international flight right after (to narita) would I have to go to coustoms? And would I on the way back (both canidian and american?)?

Thank you all for your help in advance!

Could you give us the details as to your flights (both carrier and where you are going). Pearson has more than one terminal so the process differs between the different carriers depending on which one they use.

If you arriving at terminal one, the "satellite terminal" is a small terminal for US flights (Dash-8 and small RJ type planes). You will have to get on a bus which will take you to the main terminal - about a 5 minute ride or so.

Can't comment if you will have to go through customs or not before your next flight. They will announce it on the shuttle bus however - I have just never paid attention.

At the satelite terminal you get forced on a bus so you will have to search out concessions at the main Terminal 1 (there is only a small coffee shop at the sateliete terminal anyways).

Gates 200 to 299 is the so called "East Beach" terminal. On arrival you will be immediately guided to a bus that will take you to the main terminal where from there on the process is the same as if you had arrived directly at the main terminal. There is a coffee shop in the satellite terminal, and I think a small newstand but you won't be allowed to access them on arrival as they escort arriving passengers straight to the bus.

You will have to go through an abbreviated Canada customs check then you will be allowed into the airside departure area for international flights where there are shops.

On the way back it's the same deal, you'll be funnelled to the customs check without any opportunity to shop, you do have to do both, go through the abbreviated Canadian check then on to the US customs hall. Once you have re-cleared security you can access the shops before getting on the bus to the East Beach.

I am arriving on a CO Express flight from Newark(EWR) or Cleveland(CLE); not sure which one yet.

What terminal will I be flying into?
How are security lines for that terminal on a Saturday around 6:00pm ish?
Is it easy to get a taxi to take me to the downtown?

Arrivals @ YYZ

If it is a CO flight on a CRJ, it might still be T3, versus a satellite terminal. Taxis/Limos into the city...no problem...they all wait outside on the arrivals level

www.gtaa.com should help.

CO arrives at Terminal 3. All Air Canada flights depart from Terminal 1.

A taxi/limo downtown and back will be around $50. There may be a lineup/wait.

CO arrives at T3.
Its a longish walk to Canadian passport control, where the lines depend on how many planes arrived at the same time (ie.if a full plane of vacationers arrives from Cuba, or a full load from Europe/Asia) than the wait can be long.

Next is luggage, and it usually comes quick for CO.

After that its a breeze, taxis are plentiful, just walk out straight from where you exit

On the way back, its not security that will slow you down, its US Customs, again, its a hit and miss, but I would really advise to show up an hour ahead of the flight the latest.

When departing from the CO gates, will it be easy to go to KLM's lounge?

No in fact it is impossible. You have go to US customs and immigration pre-clearance, to catch your US bound flight. You would not even be able to clear security to where the lounge is as your bording pass would not be valid for that section of the terminal.

As mentioned above, not possible.

There is a AA lounge in the US departures wing

If departing to the US, show up early enough to clear customs and security, which at rush time could be well over half an hour, plus another long walk to CO's gates

No, paid Wifi in T1, I presume also in T3 but it's been a while since I was last in there.
