YVR/US Immigration

Anyone know what time the US Immigration Lines open at YVR on a Sunday? I've got a 6AM flight, and just wanted to see how much I could sleep in?

if you have nexus, it should be no problem. 45 min would do.

Plus, you are an AC E, you get this fast-track sticker from the check-in that lets you use this express lane for security.

US immigration opens at 04h30 and there are about 6 officers processing pax. At 05h00 all the booths are open.

We use to line up in the FIS area waiting for the 05h00 start time. The line would go through the duty-free store. However, now that it is open at 04h30, there is rarely a line up inside the FIS area. I use NEXUS but when I glance over I would say the line up at 05h00 would be no greater than 5 minutes. Nothing like the 20 to 25 minute wait I use to experience weekly before I had my NEXUS pass issued.

Cheers

It doesn't as long as there are still preclearance flights to the U.S.

You can check your bags through but you have to pass through US inspedction at YVR so that your flight is then is considered a domestic arrival in the US with no further inspections. AFAIK there are no longer flights that simply transit in the US.

There are at least 2 I can think of ex-YVR but not sure if they offer preclearance. QF's seasonal YVR-SFO-SYD and FJ's 2x weekly YVR-HNL-NAN
