Crossing border USA - Canada
I am planning on crossing the border from Niagra falls to Buffalo, to catch a Southwest flight from BUF on 1:10 PM on Sunday October 21.
We will be staying on Sheraton YYZ near Pearson. The drive from Toronto Pearson to BUF is approximately 2 hours per Map Quest. How long does it take to cross the border on Sunday morning around 10:30 am ? I understand lines can get quite long lately, but when on Sunday do they start to be backed up ?
Unfortunantely the CBP and the candian customs web sites show current status, but they do not list like average wait times.

Do you have a crystal ball? Gosh for the hundreds of times I've crossed the border to catch a flight out of BUF, wait times at the border have varied anywhere from 0 minutes to 3 hours! Granted the 3 hr wait time was a long weekend mid Saturday morning, but really it's anyone's guess right now what will happen Oct 21! I predict that the wait time shouldn't be that long, maybe 30-60 minutes at the very most given the time of year. I like the layout of BUF, you can get from the checkin counter to the gate within a matter of minutes mid-day.
If you're that concerned about making the flight and have few or no options for later flights, stay at a hotel near BUF the night before! I have stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn that's across the street from BUF a few times, was very pleased with their service.

I'd definitely do this. The drive from YYZ to BUF is long and boring.
