Notice to expire by 20 July.
One of the big ferries is out of service with no replacement. Anyone travelling by car between Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland should make reservations.

There may be a bit of extra traffic on the Vancouver-Victoria sailings since some of the Nanaimo-Vancouver ones have been cancelled and some people may take that as an alternate route, but it probably won't have a huge effect.
BC Ferries isn't taking reservations for the next week on the Nanaimo-W Vancouver runs. They are still taking the usual number of reservations on the Victoria-Vancouver ones.
News release here.

Just note: A second ferry between the lower mainland and island has gone inop today with at least 4 CXL sailings. That would really screw things up.

And I was thinking, OK, I guess this is a typical summer SNAFU for BC Ferries.

To be fair, they did get the Queen of Vancouver back up and running between Vancouver-Victoria pretty quickly. The scary thing is when one of the big Spirit ferries is out of commission over a weekend or more....
