>28-Jul-2007 Drive Hope-Cache Creek
>29-Jul-2007 Drive Cache Creek-Revelstoke
>30-Jul-2007 Drive Revelstoke-Golden
>31-Jul-2007 Drive Golden-Jasper

I would do this:

Jul 28 - Drive Hope to Kamloops, via Cache Creek
Jul 29 - Drive Kamloops to Golden
July 30 - Drive Revelstoke to Jasper

This will give you an extra day in the Rockies, and Kamloops will have more accomodations options. Hope to Cache Creek is a pretty short leg.

Or alternately, here's another plan B:

Jul 27: Drive Ucluelet to Mission, via Hwy 7
Jul 28: Drive Mission to Hope via Hwy 7, then to Cache Creek via Hwy 1

...and carry on with your itinerary.

This will allow you to drive up the southern side of the Fraser River, which is a much prettier drive than the southern side.

Thanks for the comment. Sounds like a good idea. So basically, Banff and Jasper are really the places we should spend most of our time?

In my opinion, yes. And Vancouver, of course
