Crowds at West Edmonton Mall???

My son and I would like to travel from Oregon to Edmonton to visit the mall among other things. We are planning this trip the first weekend in October.

Does anybody know what the crowds would normally be like at that time of the year at the amusement/water park in the mall? Any comments will be appreciated.

Thanks!

West Edmonton Maill (or WEM as it's often called) is crowded almost every day on weekends from about noon to early evening. It won't be as bad at the time you are travelling as it is likely that winter will not as yet have set in. Galaxyland will be busier than the Waterpark.

Edmonton is a relatively easy place to drive around as long as you pay attention to where the bridges are to cross the North Saskatchewan River. Also it is cheaper not to stay at the Fantasyland Hotel in the Mall but anywhere around it but that is your call as the Hotel is definitely part of WEM.

In early October you might want to visit Fort Edmonton Park as a very interesting side trip. It is very close to WEM.

Punished is right. Also agree with checking out Fort Edmonton Park but it may not be open then as weekend openings appear restricted to September. There is however a fall fair type event each year and it is possible they may be open so keep it in mind. More info on the city at www.edmonton.ca

Largest indoor shopping mall in the world. Within the mall is a mini-golf course, amusement park, waterpark, submarine rides etc. You can also experience cuisine from around the world - they have recreated Bourbon St., and others, to give you a very unique experience.

In terms of shopping, rows and rows of stores that go on forever.
