Moving to Toronto, little help...
Hi there -
Got a job in Toronto, and I'm hoping that the learned wisdom of the Toronto board (i.e. the people that pop in once in a blue moon) could help.
1. I'm looking to get a phone with FIDO - is the coverage spotty anywhere in the GTA?
2. I'd like to get an apartment downtown within walking distance (my employer is just on the north tip of the U of T, nearest Metro is Museum). What's a good source / site for examining rental options?
Thanks in advance.

I can't help with #2, but as far as Fido goes, it's actually pretty good in the city.
With the recent buy-out of Fido by Rogers, coverage will improve dramatically outside the city of Toronto proper, however i'm told that it will cost you an extra $10/month to access the Rogers digital network if you are a Fido client.

Wow... I forgot about this thread - thanks for digging it up!
I went with FIDO, I live at Bay / Wellesley, and on my Nokia 6100 I get full coverage between home and Pearson (via the Gardiner and 427).
For me, as I am on a 2 year contract (unlimited fido 2 fido in Canada for $25, with free evenings/weekends, 150 minutes anytime), I get it free.
