Anyone has suggestion for a fairly cheap hotel in Canada around August 20?

Use Priceline and you could get cheap hotel rooms in Toronto. Check out betterbidding.com

For the Toronto airport zone:

3* can be had for around $30-40
2* can be had for around $20-25

For Toronto downtown

4* can be had for around $60-70
3* can be had for around $32-$55

Indeed, this doesn't seem to be about miles and points, so I'm going to move the thread to the Toronto forum. Please follow it there.

Finding Toronto hotel

Besides Priceline, I would also suggest checking out travelocity. You can also find some great deals on charming B&B's which can be more comfortable than hotels and cheaper.

The Westin and Hyatt's are really nice so you may be able to find a 'special' rate there or trade with someone for a "free" night.

If you are only for for 1 night and plan to go to the theater, you might also want to check out

http://www.itstimeforalittletoronto.com/

Which has good values for hotel, theater, dinner, roots, etc. packages

Hope this helps,
Mary

Toronto Hotel/Theatre/Blue Jays Package

The link posted above would not go through for me so I couldn't check it out. However; I found what I think is an incredible deal and have booked 2 nights with this company:

http://66.203.200.221/Splash/TimeforToronto/

I have tickets for 2 for Hairspray, Mamma Mia and two Blue Jays games. Plus two nights lodging at the Ren Skydome and 2 dinners for two. Total cost is $636 Canadian.

The offer is good til August 22.

Does anyone know of some hotel rooms or other short term rental places that have kitchens? (stove, fridge etc..) I am only staying for 6 days but would like to have access to a kitchen. Other places I have searched require at least a week stay, and aren't well located in the city. Thanks.

While somewhat similar, there is the Sweet Deal Montreal . It's a min. 2 night package at your choice of selected hotels, with the 2nd night being half off. It also includes a VISA Savings Passport book. The book has discount coupons on dining, shopping and sightseeing.

Not sure of rental units/apartments, but I can think of 2 hotels in the city off the top of my head. If by well located you mean downtown, then I can suggest the Pantages hotel, located about a block from Yonge&Queen. It's a fairly new modern boutique style hotel. Each hotel room is equipped with 5 kitchen appliances, cutlery and all. Since the hotel is part of a condominium, each room is designed as a condo unit and available for purchase as a unit if you latter wish. Daily rates start as low as $139/night I believe. The second is The Grand Hotel . This hotel is located a bit off the downtown area, (15min. walk) and not in the greatest part of town either. Most rooms are fully equipped with a kitchenette, though not all come with a stove top counter, so you'll have to ask. Not sure of rates, though you should be looking at about $169+/night.

Town Inn

This place is a bit run-down (or at least was 5 or 6 years ago when I was in one of the rooms), but it's close to Yonge and Bloor, and a lot of flight staff seem to stay here. It used to be an apartment building, so the rooms are a pretty good size:

What's your purpose for the hotel 20 August? That might help us narrow down our recommendations.

Can anyone recommend a hotel in Mississauga? That's where I need to be for three nights in February. I have been told the Stage West is great. Does anyone know it? My other alternative would be Four Points by Sheraton which would get me points in SPG but doesn't seem that exciting? Anything else?

Hey, Mississauga is a pretty big town. Where in Mississauga will you be in? If you want to be close to the airport, then the Four Points Sheraton or any airport hotel is fine. If you need to be in the Northwest side, I'd recommend either the Courtyard Marriott or Residence Inn. If you need to be in the SouthWest side, I'd recommend the Fairfield Inn. If you need to be in the middle part (i.e. close to Square One), I'd recommend either the Hilton Garden Inn.

I don't look at this particular forum very often. PM me if you've more questions.
