is it $15 now? it was still $10 cdn last time i went through YVR in april. You do not have to pay the AIF, however, if you are arriving to YVR or if you are connecting on the same day from another flight. Keep that in mind before you buy the AIF ticket b/c it's not obvious to people connecting. at least it wasn't obvious to me. :0

<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Passengers</A> departing Vancouver International Airport are required to purchase an Airport Improvement Fee (AIF) ticket. Children under two not occupying a seat and passengers connecting through Vancouver Airport on the same calendar day are exempt.
AIF tickets must be presented (along with airline tickets and boarding passes) as you pass through the airport security checkpoint on your way to the flight gate area.
Fee schedule
$5 for passengers travelling to a destination within British Columbia or the Yukon.
$10 for passengers travelling to other North American destinations, including Hawaii and Mexico.
$15 for passengers travelling to destinations outside North America.
