Mont-Tremblant is a tourist town, famous for its ski hills. The rates are lower in summer, but you might still have difficulties getting a good rate via Priceline. It's connected to Montreal by a highway (15 or 117), so you can get there about 2 hours. The highway passes through a region known as "The Laurentians"... also a good tourist area. Its highlights are: ski resorts, romantic French restaurants, waterpark, many lakes for fishing or boating, etc. If you are short in time, you should stop at The Laurentians (1-1.5 hours drive) as Mont-Tremblant is not that interesting and that different in the summer.

Instead of driving, why not take train between Montreal and Quebec? Via Rail is very comfortable and affordable. You don't have to worry about getting lost. In fact, if you are into trains, you can get a rail pass for about US$140 and get to see Ottawa, Montreal, and Qc City. Once you are in Quebec city, just take a cab or pick up a rental car there.

Car rental in Ottawa can be as low as US$10 a day, unlimited mileage... I have a coupon for it so if you are interested, let me look for it.

I sure cannot thank you all enough for all the information. We have finally got our air tickets to Ottawa. We fly into Ottawa, and will maybe see the Parliament there if we have time. Then we'll drive to Montreal for 3 days, then Quebec City for 4 days, then back to Ottawa, and fly out in the morning. Right now, I'm busy trying to get our rooms on Priceline. So far, I've just booked the first and last night in Ottawa at "Arc The Hotel" for $40. I'm trying to keep costs down. Montreal and Quebec City look much more expensive than Ottawa. Once I get the rooms buttoned up, we'll start to plan our itinerary for each day. It's very exciting. It'll be our first time out of the U.S. Thanks to everybody for all the help! Pomcoach </font>
Why not buy an open-jaw ticket: home to Ottawa (YOW), RETURN Quebec City (YQB) to home? Or if YQB flights are expensive, fly Montreal (YUL) to home? Take the trains, as cars are unnecessary in these cities, and Canada still has drop charges on one-way rental cars.
Conside Sheraton hotels if you go before 6-30, as you can earn 2 Free Fridays after 5 paid nights. See the Starwood forum under MilesTalk & spg.com!

Quebec is my fav. province in Canada (I guess b/c I went to French high school there)!

I suggest Montreal, Mont Tremblant, The Eastern Townships, Quebec City and Ottawa/ Hull.
