Regina - things to do and see
Will be checking out Regina for the first time April 19-21 (Fri-Sun) with the gf... we do plan to visit the RCMP museum (even if it isn't recommended! by some)... any suggestions of other things to see or do?
Also, any places/areas we should NOT go to?
Visiting for pleasure.
No dietary restrictions.
First time visiting SK..
Will be staying at a downtown hotel.
Probably won't rent a car unless it is highly recommended.
We like to walk a lot.
Thanks in advance!

This bridge. Claims to be the longest bridge over the shortest span of water in the world.

Locals told me they like to go outside the city for camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, etc. There are some bars in the city.
I do know a place or two for Saskatoon, but I haven't been to Regina before so really can't comment much.

what to see & do in Regina?
Growing up nearby, I can only add a couple of a couple of recommendations.............
A tour of the SK Legislature is worth doing. Walking from there to the University of Regina is possible.
The Roughriders are SK's CFL team. Visiitng their new stadium and picking up Rider merch are also recommended.

Ahhh... we'll be there just before it opens for the season in early May, so will be missing it.

I went to visit a friend for a weekend about 15 years ago. That and the legislature were about her only suggestions. Other things we did while I was there were go to the football game (the catalyst for the trip), go for brunch, and go to the farmers' market (which I know you've already pointed out will be closed), where we bought some truly horrible fruit wines.

Thank you to everyone who provided their suggestions for our YQR trip.
It was a nice trip and Regina is actually a nice city. I wouldn't discount the possibility of another visit in the future.
Admittedly, we did go in with lowered expectations, but we don't think that influenced our positive opinions.
