YYJ Security
Flew out of YYJ Victoria last week, mid day. The security line snaked all the way down the hall. It took 45 minutes to get thru. Not all security stations were open and you could see there was a serious lack of staff. To be avoided if you can!!

Every time I've flown out of YYJ since I moved to the region (albeit, and admittedly, not many times and no since COVID), it seems the security process was always seriously and deliberately and purposely slow. Last time, 5 persons in line means it took about a minute to process everyone.

Ya, they operate on island time, but in the three or so flights a year I have normally only waited five to ten minutes before.

The clientele are by far, the slowest in the country. It's just a painful process watching people go through security there, exacerbated by the fact that they seem to let just about anyone into the Nexus/crew line. It's become my second home airport, and drives me around the bend almost every time.
The only thing worse is watching them board. Beyond painful.

Security was slow today, as well, with only one scanner open. I imagine it varies greatly based on flight loads.
