I am an American flying from Athens to Toronto and then to Washington Reagan airport ( all on one ticket on Air Canada). I know there is pre-clearance in Toronto before coming back to the US. What is the immigration procedure in Toronto?
Do we go through immigration into Canada and then go to pre-clearance for entrance to the US. Or do we skip Canada immigration?
Thanks for all replies.

During regular times you don't enter Canada and enter US pre-clearance down a sidehall. I can't speak for covid times. When is your flight - you may have trouble boarding as Americans aren't able to enter Canada at the moment so you may not be able to depending what your Greece gate agent says....
Usually the YYZ airport has a connections guide but even they have it disabled saying to ask them directly... https://www.torontopearson.com/en/connections

As this is a Canada rather than and Air Canada question, the thread has been relocated to the Canada destination forum for further discussion.

You do not need to claim your checked baggage.
- Follow purple signage for Connections and F Gates
- Clear security
- Enter the U.S. Connection Hall:
-Use Automated Passport Control (APC) or Global Entry (GE) kiosks as applicable
-Scan boarding pass and proceed as directed
-Clear U.S. Customs - Follow signage for F Gates and proceed to your departure gate
