Thanks. I was on YVR.CA website but somehow didnt manage to find your link so that was useful.
Given my situation (I am from an international city to the US on Air Canada), Step 2 states:
Arrive at your aircraft gate,
Proceed to your onward flight, following signs for USA Connections
If you are making a USA to USA connection, you MUST pick up your bags and clear Customs
Tthis is the part that confuses me as I will be taking a YVR - LAX flight. Surely there wouldn't be a scenario where someone travels USA-USA because YVR is in Canada? Given that transit time is short, would anyone know if we indeed must pick up our check-in luggage?
Cheers.

> Most passengers will have their luggage checked-through to their final destination, so you will not claim your checked-bags at YVR.
> Please confirm this with your airline when you check in for your first flight
> Please ensure you have a boarding card and baggage claim tags for your connecting flight if you do not, contact your airline for instructions.
While an airline won't sell you a ticket with a routing through Canada between two US destinations, you can still technically do it via two tickets, so the wizrd covers this scenario.
