Thumbs down YYC International Facilities Project - opening delayed until 2016

Disappointing to see the delay on the new facilities project at YYC, particularly given how crowded the transborder area is, as well as the lack of gate space that means many of the regional flights don't get a gate and have shuttle buses out to the plane.

I'd noticed a few weeks ago that some of the materials on their web site had been quietly updated to 2016, but looks like the delay is now official:

The Calgary Airport Authority says its new international terminal should be ready next fall not the end of this year, as theyd previously indicated.

Numerous media reports since the projects 2011 launch mention a 2015 completion date; the airport authority has never corrected those reports. Meanwhile, a Feb. 23 cache of the airports website lists the terminals target completion as end of 2015, though it now lists a completion date of Fall 2016.
