Duty Free
Hi. Sorry to barge in on this thread, but is there duty free upon arrival in YVR? I know that it was considered at one point in the past.....looking to purchase some Ungava Gin while in transit to PIT via YYZ
No Ungava in YYZ

Just did AC 34 yesterday. One point to add to the above: You need to pick up your checked luggage in YVR and transfer it to the belt post-customs at the right side of the baggage hall. Then you go upstairs to the connection security check. There were no lines at immigration and I had time for a shower in the MLL prior to the YVR-YYZ flight.

There was a kiosk at one time, but it's gone.
There is a liquor store at YVR (not 'duty free') - You could reach out to them and ask if they have it:
http://www.westcoastliquor.com/
If you go this route you'll have to hang onto your baggage and check it at the airline check-in counters after you put your bottle inside.
The OP is an AA-1MM which suggests he's probably connecting on to WestJet, not Air Canada. If this is the case, just follow the signs for "WestJet Connections."

Good point - there are indeed two connection routes. But when I responded to this thread it was in the Air Canada forum!

Absolutely no duty free on USA/International arrival. It's one of YVR's missed opportunities in my humble opinion.
