Transiting through YUL with background
Hello, did a search and found a thread related to YVR [http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/archive/t-1378669.html] but not YUL.
Background: About 8 or so years ago, I was convicted under California penal code 502, a felony, for unauthorized access to a computer system. It has since been dismissed under penal code section 1385, "in the furtherance of justice", which is supposed to make the conviction act as if it never existed. I'm well aware of the fact that Canadian border authorities can probably still see it despite that, it shows up under NCIC as "pc 502, fel. Dismissed in furtherance of justice".
Now I wish to take an AC flight from DEN-YUL-CDG, and return via YYZ. I will not be entering Canada, but only transiting it (3h layover). It seems that because YUL is a smaller airport, it has no sanitary area, so I might have to enter Canada in order to take my continuing flight.
I have some basic questions:
- Do international connections at YUL go through passport control, or is there some bypass for international connections? Do they ask if you have convictions?
- What would happen for some reason I was denied entry? Would they really just send my back to the US instead of on my next flight to CDG (what difference does it make to them?)?
