Overnight at YYZ

This summer I am flying into YYZ on AC2. The flight gets in at 4:30ish in the afternoon. The following morning I am flying back home, in the States. Since the flight is so early in the morning I don't want to stay the night in the city. Also, I am a pretty cheap guy. I don't want to pay for a hotel room at the airport.

I do plan to leave the airport to go and see Toronto. What is the latest I can come back to the airport (that way I could crash at the gate)? I will have access to the Maple Leaf lounge. I considered sleeping in the lounge. Is this possible?

Are these ideas crazy? What should I do?

I know MLL closes at night, so no luck for you there

I'd find a cheap hotel in downtown TO or near YYZ for a good night sleep. They should all be < $100

Thanks for the information.

Are you, or anyone else, familiar with the Q Lounge?

I wont comment on the saneness of the idea, but just wanted to point out theres a 99.9% chance you wont even be let airside for the night. And even if you were let through, the MLL is closed at night.

There are some pretty reasonably-priced hotels at and around YYZ. If you book far enough in advance you can get something for around 70 US dollars (at somewhere like the Travelodge or Quality Suites), and even the Sheraton, right next to the termiinal building, can be had for around 120 US dollars.

If you post back with details of your return flight someone will be able to tell you what terminal you're departing from. At that point how early you can arrive at YYZ will be governed by how early US CBP preclearance opens up in your terminal.
