Vancouver in November

Thinking of visiting Vancouver during November 8-11. I know it will be wet and rainy. Is it still possible to go out and see/do things? Wanted to just wander around the City, see the sights, visit the Capilano Bridge, etc. But not sure if I should just wait it out until the summer.

I also might have an opportunity to go in January. Obviously it'll be much colder, but should I just visit then and combine a snowboarding trip to Whistler?

Thanks for any help.

There will certainly still be lots of see and do, just prepare for the possibility of rain.

Your profile doesn't say where you're from, but in case you're not aware, note that that's a long weekend in British Columbia (Remembrance Day). On the morning of the 11th there will be a large ceremony honouring our war dead at the Cenotaph at Hastings and Hamilton Streets - It can be quite impressive.

It's considered 'good form' to buy a poppy from one of the many vendors ($2) and wear it on that weekend.

It sounds like you can visit at other times of the year.

It's usually not quite snowboard season yet, it just rains a lot.

As much as the Remembrance Day celebrations are impressive, to get maximum enjoyment of the area, I would consider visiting in January for snowboarding OR the summer months.

It would leave a better impression of Vancouver.

Personally, I'd also choose January and combine with Whistler. You'll have way more fun.

Hotels in Whistler will be more expensive in January; hotels in Vancouver will be likely extremely reasonable.

In November, both Whistler and Vancouver will be fairly reasonable in the early part of the month.

Agree with the previous posters. Combine a trip to Vancouver with your Whistler trip in January. November tends to be one of the rainiest months whereas January can be quite dry and nice, if you get lucky. I would definitely tell frineds of mine to visit in January vs November.

Or better yet, come now. I spend as much of the summer as I can in Whistler and am up here right now. It is spectacular.
