YYZ Parking Train

For those that park away is the value parking (ie away from the Terminal) I learnt tonight that the train will be shut down for 6 months while something is being built?? They now have bus service between T1 and T3 and Viscount Parking....

Not very efficient

The "something" is the train that will link Pearson with Union station.

Agree that iot will be a PITA for the next 6 months. Thanks for the heads-up. Further reminder to either take the 192 Rocket or use Direct Flight Parking.

It that what that is?? I saw some serious bridge construction when I was departing YYZ on Monday ...

On some level it's astounding that what our politicians have talked about forever, might actually be underway.

Well, it is about time; just when I am retiring from heavy business travels.

Was there yesterday. They say they are replacing the train or something.

We hate taking the bus. So we used the parking at the terminal instead. We will not use the Viscount garage until November when it's done.

Valet is out of the question because no one else is touching my car. Other lots are out of the question too because We wouldn't lug our bags on and off the bus. Just have to pay more during this period.

They used the same buses during the initial construction of the LINK train. They are large and are a lot better than the ones run by the private lots. I was once on the ParkNFly shuttle when the driver fell asleep at the wheel. The Viscount lot was run by Impark until last year, and there was a real problem with paying and getting out as well as blockages and poor signage. Now, they have pre-pay machines that speed things up and the garage is finished.

Don't get too excited! The "new" AIRLINK service won't be operating until 2015. In the interim, the TTC is much less expensive and more reliable - $2.65 to downtown, one hour door-to-door!

Is there any place to buy a TTC DayPass at YYZ? A few times Ive been told by the driver to just get on and buy the pass at Kipling.......otherwise youre paying an extra fare the pass would cover.

Thanks for that! As I said, I've had pretty good luck with the driver just telling me to hop on and get the pass later......but I'd just as soon have it when boarding.

At Viscount with the link train down where do you go to catch the bus. Do you go to where the train was initially and go down to the lower level? Just flying out for the first time Monday since the train is out of service and wondering how it is and if I should look for other options?

The bus stops at the base of the train station in the parking lot so you might as well park in the lot instead of the garage. If you want to use the ParkNFly bus use their self-park and the discount coupon on paylessairportparking.ca

Thumbs down

Just had a horrible experience with this stupid GTAA shuttle bus.

First, the pick up and drop off location of the bus is on the departure level. So, when you arrive, you have to go up to the 3rd floor (in Terminal 1) to catch the return shuttle.

ALSO -- don't make the mistake of getting on the inter-airport shuttle -- yup, just to confuse and annoy people, they have buses travelling between the two terminals and another bus that goes to both terminals AND the parking lot.

I arrived at 11:30pm and the bus was packed -- actually had to leave people at the curb to wait for another bus. Not to worry, there were 2 other buses parked -- INTER airport buses....

GTAA better get their act together. Even Park n' fly can do a better job than this -- and GTAA isn't a great deal....

I'm done with off site parking with the GTAA until the monorail returns. YOU SUCK GTAA
