Toronto Pearson Question
Hey guys. Ive got a quick question. A friend of mine is flying YSJ to Toronto then on to Florida. I know that you can leave the "airside" area and go outside of the terminal, you just need your boarding pass to go back in. Can she leave the area BEFORE or AFTER customs ? She wants to come out and see some family for 20-30 mins then go back through security. Does she have to clear customs first then go out or does she hve to do that while she is still in the domestic side after her flight from Saint john, then she simply goes back through security and stuff.
Any help would be great!

She needs to leave after coming right off from YSJ-YYZ flight. Once you've passed through US customs you're staying in the sterile area until you hit US soil.

A few wrinkles that you need to consider:
How much time is the connection?
Which airline is she flying in and out of YYZ - which terminal?
What day of the week and at what time is the US bound flight?
She need to consider the time it will take to clear US-CBP and CATSA security check. Depending on time and day of the week this can be over 2 hours.
Otherwise she just walk into the terminal as a domestic arrival, meet up and then go to US-CBP preclearence.
