Time to clear security & customs at YVR

I will be leaving Vancouver for the U.S. on a Thursday morning flight (6:45 a.m.) and would like to know how much time I should allow to clear US customs and airport security. I do not have Nexus as I don't travel between the US & Canada that often. Thanks.

I've had Nexus for a long time but the last time I had an early flight out to the US, I seem to remember it was pretty deserted. Given it's near the end of the holiday season, I'd say checking in 90 min before the flight should be plenty.

90 minutes. If you can at all do it, you should check in online 24 hours ahead of time. Due to the data the US govt requires the airlines to collect, airport check in for US departures moves very slowly.

If you check in online you'll need your passport and (if you're not a US citizen) your destination address in the USA.

Thanks for the tip. I probably wasn't going to check in on-line, but I will now.
