Maple Leafs tickets for November

My partner and her mum are off to Toronto in November and are trying to get tickets to a Maple Leafs game. They've found a site which sells tickets but, to me, it looks a bit dodgy. I've had a quick search and the usual sites which sell tickets (including the Maple Leafs website) don't seem to have any.

Am I looking to buy too late or too early? Being from the UK, I'm not sure how far in advance tickets should be bought. If I'm too early, when do tickets go on sale? If I'm too late, are there any good sites (low risk) for getting tickets (assuming it's even possible)?

I think the league just released the 2010/11 schedule this week so you're too early. Teams will generally work their way through season ticket sales and game packs first before single ticket sales which I think will occur in early September (someone correct me).

To stay updated, I'd probably just keep checking the team website. To purchase, I'd probably start with Ticketmaster and then check out a reseller if you really wanted to go to a sold out game.

Question to the Leafs fans...
How much ticket demand has there been with the team not being very competitive of late? [not trying to be facetious] Was thinking just buying off a scalper during game day might be an option.

i go to many many sporting events in many many cities, and I buy a lot of tickets from Stub Hub. They are reputable and fair priced.......and they guarantee their product. You will not get ripped off by Stub Hub, and you pretty much pay fair market value. Leaf tickets in my opinion are a very poor value, no matter where you buy them.........but that is just my opinion. lol.

The majority of the building is still season tickets so there are very few tickets released for public sale for each game. Those that are will probably go on sale sometime in September via ticketmaster, but will generally be in the top few rows of the building or worse (i.e. obstructed veiw). They will likely be sold out within minutes of going on sale, for every game, so get online right away if you want to buy them this way. If you want better seats in advance Stubhub is probably the best bet, but you will pay a premium. If you can wait, there are often tickets released on ticketmaster and at the box office on the day of the game (i.e. player/league holds). These are usually good seats and you will pay face value. There were reports of scalpers selling at or even below face value last season, particularly for non-Saturday games, but with the optimism a new season brings that probably won't be the case again right away. Unless they start 0-10 again, which is certainly possible.
