Customs in YYZ

Hello everyone-

This summer, I'll be studying in Europe/Austria for about a month in a half. I'll be returning to the US via YYZ from DUS on LH.If I were to bring back alcohol, how much would I be allowed to bring? However, I came back to the US via YYZ twice this summer (and brought stuff back) without any issues. I know to check it in my luggage; but how do they determine whether or not to search my bags? Is it random? Will my being gone for almost 2 months raise any red flags? If I got caught or searched, I take it they would just throw it all out. As always, thanks in advance.

Regards and safe travels.

Help me understand your question...... You want us to give you recommendations on doing something illegal and what are your chances of getting caught?
I think not.

Please don't take any offense; I am only asking what the limits are for bringing alcohol in the USA via YYZ. Will my being in Europe for over 2 months raise any red flags?

my understanding is that it is 1 liter (aprox 33 fluid ounces) per person over the age of 21 as long as it is OK with the state where you are entering the US.
I don't think being outside the US for 2 months is a red flag; I think they don't even ask US citizens how long they have been outside the US.
