Exchanging taxis for the Skytrain

In mid-February I'm making my first trip to Vancouver since May '09, so I can now skip the $40.00 taxi each way to and from my brother's place in Burnaby. Just so happens I need to stop downtown both coming and going, so if I use the new airport rail, where can I unload baggage for half a day?

There are two luggage storage areas provided by CDS at Vancouver airport. One is in the international arrival terminal level 2, and the other in the domestic arrival terminal one the second floor. Their working time is from 5am to 11pm. Your bags can be left there from a few hours to a few days. For detail you can phone 604 303 4519 (DTB) and 604 303 4500 (ITB).

Price for coats, small camera bags is $3.50 per item, small suitcases and small bags in carry-on size $4.5 per item, large suitcases, small boxes, small trunks, fishing rod tubes, small heavy items $5.5 per item, large trunks, large boxes, skis, bicycles, sailboards, dog cages, snowboards, golf bags, hockey bags, and oversize item $7.00 per piece per day.

If you're taking the Canada Line dowtown and then connecting to the SkyTrain to Burnaby at Waterfront Station, you can also get off the Skytrain along the way and check luggage at Pacific Central bus & train Station:

It is ajacent to the Main Street-Science World SkyTrain station.

That's about a 500m walk and lots of unpleasant people in the neighbourhood.

we are used to unpleasant agents in the airport, so these ones should be easy.

LOL gimme a break. I transit that Skytrain station twice a day and now and again there's maybe one interesting character.

There's a huge condo complex full of a professionals (i.e. my friends) right there. The new Campagnolo restaurant (delicious, BTW) is right there.

And 500m? Check the map...

...it's barely 100m from the foot of the stars at the east of the platform through Thornton park to the station

Except that, if you are referring to the coin lockers there, the baggage storage has been closed starting last week and will remain closed through March due to some large event taking place in the area and the "security requirements" thereof.
