San Francisco.
I was born there, but have not lived there for many years. I live in San Diego, and have lived in Santa Barbara, Los Angeles and Orange County.
I was in San Francisco last weekend, and fell in love with The City all over again.
If you have options, move there. No question.

After 18 years, we moved from our marginal mid-city on-the-way-up (someday) neighborhood to our dream neighborhood.
We now live on a canyon, uptown, on a dead-end street. Sigh.
San Diego is a wonderful city and I can't imagine a better place to live.
