I'd go to the Beach House. If you run a search, there are some threads about it here...in either the CA, L.A., or DiningBuzz forums.

A few miles up PCH is C'est La Vie in Laguna Beach. Great spot, and great patio right on the ocean park.

There's a great little place in San Juan Capistrano, just a few miles away called Ramos House Cafe.

Just an update; I was back in Dana Point last weekend and was happy to find out that the Harbor House Cafe is still dishing out decent meals with wallet-friendly prices. Yes, it's pretty low-frills, but they do a perfectly fine job of breakfast.

Plus, portions are enormous, and the coffee is shockingly good for a diner-type place (ie it actually contains coffee, and is not dishwater).

LMAO!! I live 20 minutes from Dana Point and have only heard of one restaurant in this thread, and never eaten at any of them! I have lived in this area all my life so I'm not a recent transplant. I need to start getting out more.
