Possible BART Strike Next Week

A BART strike looms as a stronger possibility after unions said Tuesday that they will walk out at 12:01 a.m. July 6 if a new labor agreement isn't reached by midnight Thursday.

However, management and union officials said they are continuing to negotiate around the clock and still hope they can reach an agreement before the current four-year contract expires in two days.

Do you know happen to know any good alternatives into San Francisco? I am likely to return to OAK on Sunday, July 10. I want to research my options before I head out on the trip. I can't easily park a car as I may leave from SFO on the outbound.

I'd research the AC Transit express buses, as well as the SamTrans express buses. Also, BART is expected to contract with buses which will stop, generally, at the BART stations. The earliest possible strike date is now July 6. Neither side is expected to ask for a cooling off period as of this time - but who really knows.

Sunday is going to make it harder...some of the transbays don't run on Sundays or run only once an hour or so.

Couple this with the fact that I am coming in on AS, and instead of getting home about 3 pm I may be happy to be home in time for a midnight snack!
