Palm Spring/Desert
Hi, I am planning a trip to Palm Spring/Palm Desert, CA. I will be staying in one of Marriot's resort there. I am flying, and want to know are there public transportation (shuttle, bus, etc) availble for a reasonable price or I will need to get a rental car to get around the area?
Thank you for advance!
P.S. I haven't get my plane ticket yet, if anyone knows how I can get a good deal from Seattle to CA. Please let me know too!

There is public transit (SunBus) but I would recommend renting a car. Like most cities in California, Palm Springs and Palm Desert are spread out and easiest to explore by car.
It would be cheaper to fly into ONT which is about an hour away from Palm Springs. Alaska or Southwest fly there from Seattle. I'm not sure if the money saved would be worth it though.

I travel to Palm Springs/Palm Desert area about once a month for work. Usually a 1-2 day trip. I almost always fly into Ontario as suggested by the previous post. As for public transit, I've seen the buses, but would recommend getting a rental car if you plan to get around very much. The heat can be pretty brutal this time of year, and additionally I am not sure on the running hours of the public transport as many services seem to shut down early in this area...(lots of retirees in the area). If you aren't planning on doing a whole lot of travelling in the area, the hotel/resort may have a shuttle you can use for nearby locations? Check that out as well.

Definitely rent a car - super easy to get around & park, but taking busses that time of year could be a nightmare! Plus, if you're at the further out Marriott on Monterey (I think), don't even know if a bus goes by there...
