SFO - Terminal Change

I am flying from KOA to PIT through SFO
.
My flight with United lands in Terminal 3 while my flight to PIT with USAirways departs Terminal 1.

I arrive at SFO around 5:30 AM on a Saturday and depart around 7:00 AM

How long will it take to get between the two terminals and do you need to got through security again.

Thanks

You can't walk between the terminals without going through security again. It's only about a 10 mins walk transiting through the old international terminal to get there.

There is a shuttle bus for international connections that runs limited hours during the day. I thought I saw something on the sign for it this week saying "US connections" also, so you might want to check that before you exit security. It will be right at the end of the escalator, on the right side, before you see the security screening.

I went through SFO again this past Friday, and the connection shuttle does in fact say "US Air connections" in addition to international. I just don't know whether you can expect that to be running that early in the morning.
