I'm interested to hear if other FTs (especially those who fly through LAX but dont' live here)have opinions about LAX expansion. I'm quite torn....for purely selfish reasons I like the status quo. I'm self-employed, fly 4-5 times per month, and my condo is easy walking distance to rental car shuttle to LAX terminal (FT paradise?). If it goes through, I'd likely be displaced (as well quite a few families in modest though pleasant houses who have lived in the area for years and couldn't possibly afford comparable housing in West LA (airport noise, etc has kept local prices low compared w/ the rest of the westside). I realize these NIMBY issues occur with any major infrastructure project, but I really don't see the need for expansion from the traveller's perspective---LAX is much easer to negotiate than ORD, ATL, JFK.
