Tijuana Border crossing help

Have there been any significant changes or delays in the crossing? I get to San Diego 3 or 4 times a year, and always head down to watch some great futball.

So anyway, I generally don't bring my passport, but am wondering whether I should this time.

Thanks for the info!

A friend of mine just came back from San Diego and did the TJ side trip. Said that the inspectors at the San Ysidro border crossing station were more diligent about asking for ID. To avoid hassles, take your passport.

I posted a trip report today entitled SAT - SAN and Tijuana today. Bottom line: 1.5 hour pedistrian line Saturday at 8:30 PM and I have heard of 3 hour lines. Driving over may be better if you have the option (you cannot take most rental cars over). Also, check out bus travel back across ("Mexicoach'). (U.S. to Mexico is no issue, just getting back.)
