It may not be worth it for an overnight but we spent several days in LA staying at the DoubleTree a couple of blocks from City Hall and enjoyed walking around the area. There is a quite a lot to see and do (including a winery within walking distance) and the hotel has a very restful Japanese roof garden (it used to be a Japanese hotel). We did take a bus to the Huntington Library but you wouldn't have time for that.

OP's itinerary will put them near a plethora of interesting sites which they won't have time to visit.

Any suggestions/recommendations for this one. Some additional places to visit or stops during the trip?

It might be anything like any sights, cafes or suggestion to choose a slightly different road cause I'm tied to already booked hotels.

I would appreciate any propositions and ideas.

Thanks a lot.
Was there last year and we did a road trip from San Francisco until LA. Roadtrip through the coast was really nice, unfortunately we did everything in a day, and that can be to exhaustive or you don't appreciate all the stops. It was a 12 hour ride more or less, as we stopped in some places to eat and take some photos. In the end of the day everyone was destroyed. My favourite place: Malibu. We stayed there for 2 days and it was really nice with the beaches and surf
