Doing a roadtrip to Sacramento via Fresno and was wondering about good "locals only" places for dinner and/or breakfast. any suggestions?

I like Maxs, Parma, Cracked Pepper, Campagnias, Five, Kijima, Flemings (chain but my favorite happy hour burger) to name a few. I'll try to add later

No specific names, but one of the Basque restaurants that dot the central valley is worth trying if you haven't ever done so. These are more into quantity than quality but still it is worth doing.

I'd add Hunan Restaurant (locations in both Fresno and Clovis);

Limon (Peruvian from the same family as Limon in San Francisco);
http://www.limonfresno.com/
Trelio in Clovis (daily menu using many local and organic ingredients);

And I'll second the Cracked Pepper recommendation.

Great tri tip

The Dog House Grill on Shaw, across from the university has great tri tip sandwiches if you don't mind the sports bar/college decor.

If you don't mind the atmosphere (some what of a dump) you can get a great breakfast at Chubby's on First St.

Some great additional suggestions. Deli Delicious is decent as well for sandwiches. Where did you eat, what did you think?

Thanks to the LAX/SFO UA flight being delayed 3 hours (decided to rent a car at LAX and drive) I did not get to the Park(what a dump)Inn till almost 11 and at that point Sonic seemed a good choice
